Happy Holy Day and Happy Valentine's Day! First, site
news. We have two new affiliates. First, 24Natic,
a UK site. As well, we have UK24Fan,
formerly Be Jack Bauer.
Secondly, I am saddened to report the passing of my grandfather Bill
Fowler early Saturday morning February 12. I will be flying to England
on Thursday, Feb 17 to see my family and attend my grandfather's funeral,
and I won't be returning until Wednesday Mar 2. I will miss 2 consecutive
episodes of 24, though I will be taping them while abroad. Right now,
I am not sure what is happening with this site in the interim. I plan
to talk to Matt to find out if he might run things while I am gone,
as he did last time, but his access to the Internet right now is sporadic
at best.
I will have no internet access while I am out of Canada. Any e-mails,
fanlisting membership applications or anything else related to this
site will not be updated or responded to between Feb 17 and Mar 2.
Whatever Matt and Kat may find the time and resources to do while I
am gone might be updated, but as of Feb 17, all visitors should expect
this site to be on hiatus until Mar 2.

All major updates are complete. Almeida
Verbatim and Godlike Moments have
been updated for Episode 8. As well, Remain...
: The Approved Kim Bauer + Rick Fanlisting has received a renovation.
I would like to take a minute to thank Natalie over at our affiliate 24
Online for providing the Season 4 screencaps we used to make
the photos for Godlike Moments.
Speaking of screencaps, I would like to take a moment to discuss them.
I can tell everyone here one thing I know for certain. Anyone who has
never created and formatted screencaps from DVD for the web has NO
IDEA how much work is really involved. I certainly didn't before I
started this site. It's not like I can go click click click and 20
minutes later I have screencaps to post. Each capture has to be formatted
for the web individually once I have gathered them. I have to convert
each image from BMP to JPG, adjust the size, adjust the brightness,
contrast and colour balance of each individual image, upload them and
place them in the albums in the Gallery. Each episode takes about 2-3
hours of total work for me.
Sending me rude, whiny e-mails or guestbook entries complaining about
the fact that the screencaps haven't been updated in awhile will not
make me get through this process any faster. To those of you who have
sent me messages of this nature, I kindly ask you to appreciate how
much time and effort I already devote to this site, and to stop being
impatient and demanding. I image edit to provide all of you with the
best quality photos of Tony you will get anywhere on the net. As you
may have noticed, this is a huge website, especially when you consider
that I maintain 25 fanlistings related to 24 as well as the flagship
site. I have a full time job, a household to run, a heavy workout schedule,
a boyfriend and a social life. It's not like I have 5 hours a day to
work on screencaps. The next person who sends me comments whining about
the fact that I haven't posted new screencaps will be ignored and deleted,
or if I'm feeling really surly, may receive a nasty reply. I don't
want to be nasty to any of our site readers, because I value all of
you very much, but I'm pissed off. Unless you run your own site and
have an appreciation for the work required to create and offer quality
screencaps, you have no right to bitch about the fact that I haven't
worked fast enough to provide the resources on this site that you seem
to be taking for granted. This sentiment applies only to those people
who have complained rudely (you KNOW who you are). Screencaps will
be posted when I have time, and when they are, I will announce that
here.

Two fanlistings have undergone renovations -- Politics
of Love: The Approved David + Sherry Palmer Fanlisting and Insipid:
The Approved Fakeyork Fanlisting. The Fakeyork FL also has a
new name.
I'm ashamed to report that I was unable to complete major updates for
Episode 8 yesterday. I got like 4 hours of sleep on Tuesday night,
and after going to work, then straight to the gym, then home, cooking
dinner, watching Lost and Alias, I fell asleep watching Law and Order
and slept straight through to the morning. I am hoping to find time
to do Godlike Moments and Almeida Verbatim today. I feel like a very
bad Tony fan.

foothill94022: The
Approved Milo Pressman Fanlisting has been renovated. Don't we
all long for the carefree days of Milo and Jamey working for Nina?
Revisit them today!
In other news, apparently whoever writes the TV columns over at "Karaoke
Revolution" thinks we are creepy losers. Coming from someone
who writes for a website called Karaoke Revolution, I'm not too concerned.
Too bad the writer forgot to turn on their sense of humour before checking
us out.
As I write this, I see that AIG has officially reached the 20,000 hits
mark! That's 20,000 loyal Almeidaists who disagree with KR.Net!
Cast Spotted Log has also been updated.

Wow. Well! What to say in the aftermath of learning
that our upstanding hero and dedicated patriot is now an unemployed
alcoholic ex-con? We say this: TONY ALMEIDA IS STILL GOD!!!! This was
far and away the best episode yet of Season 4. We are finally back
to the stellar writing and interpersonal dynamics that has made this
show so great for 3 seasons. Tony Almeida has saved Season 4.
Every season we tout that the people behind 24 have given us the most
significant Tony episode of all time. And every subsequent season,
we are proven wrong when 24 outdoes itself and gives us an episode
of even greater Tony significance. All aspects of every Tony revelation
are discussed in detail in our latest updates. We have posted last
night's debrief, as well as initial
thoughts from Kat in e-mail form. Additionally, Famous
Last Words has been updated. Unfortunately, I will likely not get
to updating Godlike Moments and (at last!) Almeida Verbatim until Wednesday,
as I have somewhere to be tonight.
One might argue that Tony is no longer God because, through his suffering
and loss, he has been relegated to a human level. He is fallable. People,
of COURSE he has fallen from grace. Without the fall, we cannot have
the resurrection and redemption that is sure to follow!
In closing, I would just like to say that I forgive the writers for
every mis-step thus far this season. I forgive them for lame Nina-knock-off
Marianne and for Richard Heller left dangling. I forgive them for Maya
Driscoll and Kalil's lame death. I forgive them for a bunch of CTU
drones with no personalities and for having Chloe fired. I forgive
them for gross over-usage of torture tactics (though that said, I sure
hope Sarah Gavin tells Erin to fuck off after this). I forgive them
for it all because WE HAVE TONY. I knew 24 would not let me down.

HAPPY HOLY DAY to all. We've had a long wait this
week, and so many questions! Why is Tony not in prison? What is happening
between him and Michelle? How did Jack know where to find him? How
did Tony get to Jack's location so damn fast? What prompted Tony to
re-cultivate the soul patch? All will be answered tonight, we hope,
but MAN, it's been a difficult week. I've been thinking about Tony
so much that I'm starting to fear for my own sanity. Actually, no,
not really, but man, I missed Tony SO MUCH. Thank Almeida that Almeida
has returned to bring some life to Season 4.
In other news, there is a new site on the Almeida Is God Fan Network.
Visit Blood Relations: The
Approved David + Wayne Palmer Fanlisting today!!!
In even further news, we are sorry to report that our very popular
quizzes are offline for right now. Quizmo, the free service that hosts
them, has been experiencing unusually high bandwidth use and is currently
down for maintenance while this issue is investigated. There is nothing
we can do about this, and we were not notified in advance, but we're
sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused. Quizmo has reported
that unless their issue is resolved to their satisfaction, there is
a possibility they will shut down permanently. If this happens, the
quizzes in their current forms will be lost, but we remain hopeful
and optimistic that Quizmo will re-launch. If they do shut down, we
will find a way to get new, even better and more up to date quizzes
back online as soon as possible. Our committment to the ridiculous
levels of 24 fandom you have come to expect from this site is unwavering,
dear readers!
I have noticed a strange theme of Tony awesomeness that unites all
the Seasons together. Tony's storyline always seems to get really interesting
in episode 7 or 8. In Season 1, episode 8 is the point in the season
where Nina brings Tony in on Jack's situation with his family, and
Tony captures Jamey in the bathroom. In Season 2, episode 8 is when
Tony brings Reza and the Warners back to CTU, thereby FINALLY uniting
the Warner plot with the main plot, and goes all badass on Bob Warner.
In Season 3, episode 7 is Tony's first episode back after he is shot,
and he reveals the hugest twist of all, that the Kyle Singer virus
threat/prison break was a huge hoax. NOw, in Season 4, episode 7 marks
Tony's triumphant return. In episode 8, we will get our first taste
of true Tony action. Is this all a coincidence? Only 2 hours and 15
minutes until new Tony. Thank Almeida!!!

Greetings, Tony fans! I have no major news to report
on the Tony front. We, like you, are still waiting on episode 8 to
find out more about why Tony isn't in jail and wtf is going on between
he and Michelle. Screencaps for the latter half of s3 will be forthcoming.
As I mentioned yesterday, I plan to get started on these early next
week.
In the meantime, Kat came up with the genius idea to start a petition
to get Daphne Brogdon fired as host of the 24 Inside Webcast series.
You all know how much we despise this vaucous airheaded twit. If you
too feel strongly about Daphne Brogdon's raging incompetency, sign
our petition, "Down With Daphne Brogdon!".

It was time to do some house-cleaning. I have removed
all dead links from my affiliates section. This includes the sites
Forever Kiefer and Be Jack Bauer. If you happen to be the owner of
either of these sites and you moved your site, please contact
me and I will happily reinstate your link. If you own a 24-related
fansite and you are interested in an affiliates link exchange with
us, definitely contact me!
I am hoping to get some more s3 Tony Screencaps done over the next
10 days or so. My boyfriend is going away on business all next week,
so I will have some extra time to myself to work on the site. I am
almost done the fanlisting for the David and Wayne Palmer relationship.
I then have 3 episode-related FLs to complete. After those are done,
it will be time for me to take a little break from fanlistings. I'm
sure the break won't last long, because I love fanlistings, but I definitely
think I took on too many this round.
I am also hoping to find some time to design new shirts for our store. I'll see how it goes!
ABWY!

I have just finished viewing the latest 24-Inside
Webcast over on the FOX site featuring Shohreh Aghdashloo (Dina
Araz) and co-executive producer/writer Peter Lenkov, hosted by none
other than everybody's favourite blonde, fake-breasted idiot bimbo,
the loathe of my life, Daphne Brogdon!
I was hoping that Daphne might get the axe in favour of a new host
this season after her blatantly unprofessional and brazenly annoying
(non)contribution to last year's webcasts, but sadly, no. She's still
there, mispronouncing names and misreading the teleprompter better
than ever. I mean, what the fuck is a nuclear holoCAST? Is that like
a hollow cast in the core of a nuclear device?
I find this woman vapid and endlessly irritating, for many reasons.
First of all, I can't stand how all her speech is affected with that
overly dramatic, overly loud, condescending valley-girl cheerleader
twang, complete with the hyperbolic eye-rolling and hand flailing.
Secondly, I hate it how she always interrupts the guests by interjecting
these wildly inappropriate comments that vaguely relate to what they
are saying, but somehow fail to grasp the actual meaning of what they
are saying. The comments are supposed to be funny, but no one, neither
the audience nor the guests, find them amusing. For example, when Shohreh
was describing how she prepares for roles by writing a detailed backstory
for her characters and going through magazines to find pictures of
the types of clothing her character would have worn throughout her
life and items her character would like, Daphne responds by saying "You
pick out the one shirt you wear for the entire season!" She completely
misses the point and she is NOT cute and NOT funny!
Daphne Brogdon does not deserve this awesome job where she gets to
meet and interview the people behind 24. I watch the webcasts with
the purpose of gaining insight about the show based an intelligent
discourse from the guests. I do not watch the webcasts to see a vapid
blonde with big boobs who wears what essentially amounts to lingerie
on stage make ridiculous comments about a show that, if she even watches
it regularly, she surely doesn't understand with any great degree of
depth. Daphne, no one gives a fuck about your ex-fiancee's mother.
STFU! Get rid of the eye candy and bring in a host WHO KNOWS WHAT THE
FUCK THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!
Another great example of Daphne's idiocy was her reaction to the return
of Tony. She said that when Jack told Audrey he was calling "the
only person he could trust" she was COMPLETELY SHOCKED by this.
How could anyone be shocked by it? As soon as Jack said the words "the
only person I can trust" it should have been completely obvious
who he was calling. I hate her. We need Carlos to do another webcast
so he can make fun of her straight to her face without her even knowing
it. That was good.
Peter Lenkov added very little value to the webcast, in my opinion.
They must really be scraping the bottom of the barrel if they can't
get Joel, Robert or Howard to appear on it anymore. My guess is that
anyone who has already been exposed to the menace that is Daphne Brogdon
probably doesn't care to repeat the experience. The webcast was given
a modicum of credibility by the appearance of the graceful, beautiful
and articulate Shohreh Aghdashloo. This woman is a class act. Anyone
who is drawn to the Araz storyline and the character of Dina should
definitely watch the webcast.
I've realized that 24 is really too good for FOX. FOX gets its typical
LA bimbo to host discussions about a brilliant piece of art. What is
wrong with this picture?
I apologize to all of you for subjecting you to this rant. I realize
that my hatred of Daphne Brogdon may seem a little vicious, but I cannot
help it. With the myriads of intelligent, perceptive fans of this show
I have encountered as webmistress of this site, surely they can do
better than this twit.
In other news, Famous Last Words for episode 7 has been updated.

We are now in the aftermath of the greatest comeback
in 24 history. The emergency memo I posted yesterday, immediately after
the show aired, can be found in our January
2005 Archive. To extend the sentiment of crazy happiness and worship,
we are pleased to offer you A Long, Involved and Psychedelic Debrief
for Episode 7, 1-2PM. This debrief is our first three-way of the season,
and it was everything we hoped it could be. It is posted in 24
Mega-Fandom.
We are pleased, once again, to unite Tony fans from around the globe.
It was high time for Tony's return -- he is the only thing that could
possibly save what thus far has been a pretty sloppy and uninspired
season. Yes, 24 is still the greatest TV show that ever existed, and
yes, it is still better than pretty much anything else on television,
but over the last 3 seasons, we have come to expect a certain calibre
of suspense, interpersonal character dynamics, attention to detail
in the plot and plain old-fashioned adrenaline -- and it really just
hasn't been there. Thankfully, we now have Tony to save this season.
I'm sure Jack is pretty happy about it too, since Tony totally saved
his ass.
In keeping with the tradition of this website exalting Tony Almeida's
godlike status in the 24 universe, Godlike Moments has
been updated for the first time this season -- and not a moment too
soon!
